Insight's Tale

Age Group: Adult
Little birds in gilded cages
Suffer silent, bitter rages
Time insists and turns the pages
And in the end finds wasted ages
Tangled hearts may well break free
No longer offered unto thee
And like the temperamental sea
Gives to you what’s meant to be
Find a treasure once thought lost
But be ever mindful of the cost
The lesson learned by poor old Faust
Upon your soul, your fate embossed
Look always in another’s eye
To find the place where secrets lie
And judge not by the tear they cry
But in the ones that don’t slip by
To thine own heart one must be true
But hearts can be deceptive too
Don’t do to them what’s done to you
Revenge concocts a wicked brew
Regret is a self-determined crime
And mountains, they were meant to climb
Hope is sweet and sublime
A flower plucked at its very prime
