Awakening

Awakening
Familiar twinges
Lifeline joins the rising sun
Awakening of past pleasure
Held sacred, hidden treasure
Welled raindrops
Caress the corners of the soul
Where memories no longer escape
Foretold beneath the moonlight
Unto the heart breathes life
Missing moments as seasons change
Whilst years have passed
Leaves scattered upon the earth
Again in bloom
Abundance found in absolution
Unforgotten are the dreams once shared
Keys to truth of who we are
What we need
And where we wish to be
Held here always
A trust I cannot deny
Awakening me, inspiring me
Still, the darkness approaches
Knowing, waiting
2nd, 3rd, 4th chances
Lying in self made recesses
That mask its vengefulness
The bitter cold unrelenting
Uncaring
Threatening her wrath
Be wary of the storms envisioned
But do not let them consume you
Release your pain to the wind
Awakening is the brilliant sunset
That revels in such warm embrace
With velvet hues that fade to midnight
And protects us in the light
