Come Dear One
Let us walk, talk
Rendezvous
Beneath the summer moon
Tell me what is on your mind
I oft think of you my friend
We are friends
Regardless of the vast separation
Are you wondering why or how
Or if truth truly overtakes darkness
Well, I cannot lie and I won't
I answer to a greater power
One in which I shall not shame
Those eyes of blue
Gleaming like starlight
Make of it what you will
That ego of yours
Perhaps gets the better of you
Did you know I carry a letter for you
Penned by a gracious heart
Years now have gone by
Faded and torn
But it remains with me always
Do you even know what its like
The trust I have in you
Honestly, my friend
It has been a long road
So long
I could sleep for thousand years
Curled up within your arms
Warmed against your skin
The silence released
Knowing I'm safe
Much the same when I am held close
Wrapped in the wings of an angel
At peace
Do you need ask?
You know what stirs within me
What I so desperately try to hide
Is not something easily explained
Still it is true none the less
Do not fear, I do know my place
Although your buddy here, Chatty Cathy
Always whispering in my ear
Oh only if you knew
Yet,
If you love something let it go, yes
Teardrops, at times, but is for the best
I will admit, sometimes
Every now and again
I cannot resist poking at him
Just for a moment
Like now, as the fear rises
Now, when I need to know he's ok
I am frightened beyond words
That second road traveled
Littered with demons and false promises
So yes, guilty I am
When things go a wry
But trust it is a guilt born of protection
Without regret
