Blissfully Overshadowed by the "Pretty" People
There is much to be said about simplicity
Though perhaps a trite too menial
Drifting softly along a sea of dreams
Blissfully overshadowed by the "pretty" people
Those who would spend their precious time
Treading upon the carcasses below
While picking glitter from their knees
In hopes of reaching that clear blue easy sky
Photo-shopping unsuspecting woodland creatures into the camera focus
Respect for some is but mere self reflection
Ah the memories, yes the memories
I all but counted the days until the chaos would ensue
Truth be told, I so feared its impending arrival
From the moment of its first inscription
Waiting to see who would be the one to leap from the shadows
But you know nothing of such paralyzing emotion
And I know way too much
The waves churning within me
Rising up, it's hold growing stronger and stronger
Until it all but explodes from the very core of me
The count continual in my head
Seemingly drowning me
I do not know how to release it!
Believe me when I say you know nothing of it
While I am forced to lock it away
Concealing it like some cursed imperfection
Still, I will be the one to again make it better
Taming the need
Blissfully overshadowed by the "pretty" people
Oh my friend innocent you are, I'm sure of it
Just trying to make your way here to home
Sacred verses reciting
But you have set the wheels in motion
So be wary of the energies that roam
