Fear

Fear
Inescapable, unimaginable, the mind's eye blinding
Spiraling ever upward
Like caged serpents begging to be set free
Fear of everything and nothing
The crushing blows become swift torture
Continual and unrelenting
Oxygen depleting
Thunderheads, they seize the sky above
Warning of the flood soon to come
Battering full force, the heart into exhaustion
Control is but a distant memory once the wheels are turning
Take me now from this place
The darkness crawling, manifesting in the mind
I cannot do anymore
Silently the damage is already done
This pain mere words cannot define
Imprisoning me behind closed doors
Spiraling, spiraling, fear is rising
Into the world venture but only from a distance
For what lurks in the shadows is beyond recognition
Into my cave burrowing deeper
To sleep until the sun shall awaken me
And heal within the earth's soft embrace

Author's Notes: If you've never suffered a panic attack, I pray you never ever ever do. It horrible existence without rhyme or reason, that can't be controlled once it begins. I get them on and off but the past week or two has been beyond words and really there is no reason I should be having one. Usually they come and go but this time it just won't quit. It's been days. I am so tired from my body running so fast for so long that I am afraid eventually it will have done so much physical damage to my body that I'll have a heart attack. Which ironically just makes the fear and panic worse. Sucks!
