Maiden and Mother so strong and proud
Still, the clouds they billow in your wake
Like smoke signals rising in the morning sky
Sister, Sister
All the thoughts you hold inside
Are draped in voiceless patterns
Fearful of the aftermath and the choices left to make
Your blonde locks growing dimmer
The silence a toll, that from your body takes
Once, the Crone, she whispered in my ear
I know not why
But between us dreams escaped
So I honor and revere you as if you were my blood
Sister, Sister
Divine connections shared
Hold tight to your little girl
Neither manipulator nor liar
Shield her heart like there is no tomorrow
It is the truth she speaks that threatens to send her away
Do not let her go
That first heart break just part of life's journey
Should never come from the one she treasures most
Sister, sister
The list is unending
Boarding schools can be fun
Disciplining society's expectations
Experience from no where else could come
Higher learning, and so you may be right
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
Me thinks is only to keep the competition far from sight
With the benefit of ridding you from her life
Perhaps your fingers wouldn't so oft do the walking
On the phone constantly calling
Frittering away time with your meaningless talking
Sister, Sister
I cannot tell you what to do
To speak or let the lies lay hidden
I know it's not an easy task
Just remember
Karma has a funny way of coming back around
Enlightening the path when evil is abound

Author's Notes: You know what gets me. People who hold so much resentment for the children of their spouses or lover's prior relationships and even more so if it means the separated parents have good communication between each other. Both sexes are equally guilty, but I've seen this in too many women and it's really sad. Pathetic actually, especially when their men have daughters. They feel like these kids are their competition and they try and they try to remove them from their life, from the life of the person there supposed to love. Treating them badly, making little comments when no one else is around to hear, reeking havoc with their self esteem, making the mistake of thinking children don't understand certain actions because their children or making sure the parent believes their child is trying to manipulate them. Sadly, more often than not they succeed in their petty game. What they fail to realize is that children are children and they deserve to be top priority always by both parents and unfortunately that means having to suck it up and find some respect for the other parent. Honestly, when I look at a man who has a child I need to see that glint in his eye that tells me his child is everything in his world. If you think about it, if anyone, man or woman you become intimately involved with is able to disrespect and discard their own children at will and the mother or father of those children, then what type of respect do you, someone who wandered in from the outside, think you will be deemed worthy of in the end. Sorry I'm ranting, sometimes I just need to speak my mind and for me there are two relationships I believe a man must master before I will ever believe he is sincere. That's the one with his mother and the one with his daughter or child. It he can't give them the respect they absolutely deserve then he damn skippy is not going to respect me.
