Back To Business
It was just yesterday I sat, staring
Planning my escape from the darkness overwhelming
Upon my knees on the edge of a mountain looking down
Consumed by the raindrops tearing my skin like tiny razors
His wings like a warm blanket tucked tightly around me
Whispering a soft voice of reason in my ear
"Breathe with me, feel my body against yours"
"Tell me, who will shine their light for me when I should call"
"Tell me love, to whom would I return home to when my work in the cloud country is done"
"And tell me, if you're gone, who will I teach the chords of my heart as a means of release when these times do come"
"You cannot throw yourself into that dark abyss, because I will not let you fall"
"We will not make the same mistake twice!"
"Look around you, look around this world and see what's happening"
"Such fear and destruction, the wrath of nature fast approaching"
"Remember who and what you are, separate yourself from it, let go of the pain it is not yours to carry but a warning to pay heed to the energies spurning"
"You are not crazy, that brain of yours is just spinning you out of control"
"You know this, I know you do and tomorrow will be better, no matter who believes, because I will make it so"
"Breathe, baby breathe"
"When you awaken, we shall begin again"
"There is life to be protected"
"And before I shall lay you down to sleep, you will follow the sound that calls to your soul, the drumming of the ancients that guide your path"
"Send forth those shimmering blue orbs that transcend into a shield of divine sent light offering hope through the dark of night"
"Back to business my angel, for the fury of wind and waves is rising"

Author's Notes: I had a very emotionally trying day yesterday to say the least, but now it's back to business. This hurricane headed towards Jamaica is gonna be beyond words. While we cannot change what is or the path it will take, we can all offer light to protect the lives of those in its path. Please everyone, for a moment tonight just keep them in your prayers and further down the line those who will experience the same.
