Hold The Presses

by SilverAngelFire

Age Group: Adult

Hold The Presses

What say you to people who have passed
To what extent do you speak
The good, the bad, the ugly
It is a wonder why we preach the way we do
From these pedastals lacking self reflection
Look at yourself for a moment
Have you been so incredibly perfect your whole life
Have you never done something wrong
Have you never thrown yourself into the darkness
And yet you've been forgiven somewhere along the line
Forgiveness granted from those most trusted
Forgiveness granted from yourself more importantly
It is there that you go on to live, love, and learn
Not before

So my thought then is this
Why do so many people speak poorly of the dead
They have crossed that final divine plane, for whatever reason
Yet, it's not enough, it's never enough
Why is that not bad enough
Either we make people to be heroes they never were
Or we have nothing good to ever say about them
Where's the good, tell me
Even worse yet are those with ambiguous natures
sh*t happens, yes, yes it does (excuse my language)
But it happens to all of us
So should we be remembered only for that
Should we not say that the person had a great heart
That the person was so utterly emotionally charged
Talented, caring, beautiful, there must be something
Perhaps they faced circumstances they did not know how to handle
Could not control to some extent
No one is perfect, sometimes we cannot see until its too late
So do we imprison them to that negativity for eternity
Would you not think it was enough that they imprisoned their own life
As loved ones, friends, family we hold a key that unlocks that prison
Why would we not use it, honestly and truly
It is so very sad
I for one will always use it regardless of the consequence

And of the afterlife, do we not believe
For arguments sake let us say it is unequivocally true
Our loved ones do come back to us
Life, whether it be on this plane or the next, is not a seance
There is no WOOOOOO, come forward and speak spirit
No it's not, they are there regardless
Do you not think that in the moments you find yourself most thinking of that person, they are probably right there next to you
Which would mean they have brought themselves closer to the earth
And by doing so can see, hear, touch, smell, taste and feel
So would we not then choose our words more carefully
What do you think they would say if all they heard was bad
I personally think they would say...
OUT LOUD PEOPLE, RIGHT HERE, HELLOOOOOO

So I leave this rant with one last thought
I almost died once some 12 years ago in an ugly ugly way
I had drank so much, so stupidly
A man stepped forward screaming at me, absolutely screaming
"If you go to sleep you're gonna die, do you understand me", he said. Noel you are going to die...do you understand me...I don't care what you have to do to keep yourself awake, you had better do it...do you understand
He just kept yelling it over and over again.
Oddly enough it was the first time I could discern the energy around me as more than a mere feeling of knowing someone was there
First I thought, hmmm crazy? I was not crazy, I wasn't
I held my eyes open for 4, yes 4 hours because I did understand
And he wasn't kidding
I honestly believe I would have died that day, so many years ago if it were not for him
If this man, who probably had a couch fused to his ass and died in the same manner had not stepped forward and said hold the presses girlie we'll not be taking this route today
I would have been remembered for that sole event in my life
What a horribly demeaning way to be memorialized

Well at least now I'll just be remember for being nutty
In any event, there is always a point to my madness

Just a rant
