Predator

Predator
There comes at darkness a rustle amongst the trees
Eyes gleaming through parched branches
Stalking his prey amid the winters frost
He is a hunter, ungodly, abhorrent
Seeking solace in small voices
This predator beneath the midnight sky
Crawling with such stealth precision
Methodical and without conscious
While the flames rise within him
Soon, he must act soon
The yearning grows stronger
This controlled seduction that cannot be sated
Clawing at the wings of butterflies shall earn him his keep
But he will neither feast nor sleep this night
For the dawn moves swiftly along an ancient sky
The predator seized, now becomes the prey
Unrelenting are the shadows that pace his every step
Binding him by the light of the Goddess
As he so proudly dons a fine crimson flag
Justice this day will be heard
