Watching the sunrise
Succumbing to the silence
Coffee in hand
My mind wandering
As thoughts awaken
Those beautiful brown eyes
Fading
Behind that iron man attitude
Tears are slowly falling
Please do not be sad this day
I know what you’re feeling
Believe me I do
Smile for me if you can
And for once I won’t question why
These passing of moments we share
Today, I will just let it be
So smile for me
Don't curse me
Smile please
Keep those eyes shining
While I shield and cleanse
You’re gonna have to stay up there
For just a little bit
Because I haven’t the strength
To pick all three of us up off our knees
So do and keep doing
Don’t stop
Whatever it is your heart desires
Dive the deep blue seas
Race the wind
Ride a bull if you must
Just do
Keep those eyes shining
And smile
