Wish It All Away

Wish it All Away
I don’t know what’s happening
The knot in my stomachs getting tighter
As my head starts spinning
I’m trying so hard to wish it all away
You with me is so far beyond reason
So wrong what I’m feeling
Yet when I look and when I listen
I’m in awe of all I see
I just want to close my eyes
Turn off my mind
But you’re still there
While I’m dreaming
Why are you there
With those damn eyes
I don’t understand
While I spend my own nights tossing and turning
Could you see my fear
Too oft in my world
Is definitely a unintentional hazard
Same night, same time
Someone please tell me how to make it stop
And how stupid do I sound
There is nothing there for me
No common bonds
I know this
Believe me I know
No where near being ethnic or exotic
Even I cringe at the thought of myself
Still your voice it takes hold of me
Even more so in those early morning hours
This line I should never think to cross
Oh my god what’s wrong with me
Like a silly schoolgirl with a crush I am
Flustered and forgetful
And that little twinge of jealously
It rears its ugly head
When I want so badly to prove myself
That one person always seems to come along
She puts me right back in my place
Maybe that’s a good thing
Because it brings me back to reality
Helps me try harder
When I’m wishing it all away
