Casting Shadows

Casting Shadows
To where do we turn in the blackness
As each breath becomes labored
In the distance I can see the waves churn
The sea it distorts itself
Conforming to the unnatural
Whilst the darkness grows
Casting shadows in the distance
And yet there is light
Born upon the horizon
Beckoning to be set free
Reaching out
From planes of alternate existence
Why do they call
Such fear in their voices
The agony of their cries
Overwhelming the senses
This unbearable pain
As the moments tick away
Catch me when I fall
Before the knot becomes too taut
Let us heal within the moonlight
Soon it shall pass
