Inspire Me

Inspire Me
This day it seems to have no end
Like the graying of a brilliant blue sky
The stagnation has crept over me
These doldrums slowly draining me of light
There is nothing now but stillness
I imagine all would be lost
If it were not for this perfect vision of you
Strolling along that emerald shoreline
Book in hand and skipping stones
Drowning much the same in silence that consumes my mind
Can I sit with you for just a moment
To bask in the beauty of the sea
The clouds are breathtaking this time of year
So tell me what you see
Now close your eyes
Does the wind call to you as it does me
Why do you think that is
It’s dream time baby
Show me yours
And I’ll show you mine
Those melodic tones just begging to be set free
That soft rich voice is like nothing I’ve ever known
Stops me in my tracks it does
When the fear tells me to run
Grounding my very soul so it would seem
I've spent far too many years
With the volume turned down
So inspire me, here and now
Like never before

Author's Notes: For J.E., This is not wonderful I know, but I found myself with writer's block today and thinking alot about someone. I guess it was just something I had to get out. Things will get better soon.
