It Should Never Be That Hard

If there is anything I have taken from this life
It is, that it should never be that hard
Wandering aimlessly through dark of night
Tearing your heart into a million jaded pieces
Rising up for nothing more than to greet the next fall
If only for just a fraction of a second
We should listen to ourselves
Resurrecting emotions that have been deadened
Caring for one’s own needs is never meaningless
Merely a reflection cast upon sacred waters
Beckoning our souls to freely delve
Have you ever lost something you couldn’t replace
Something so traumatic
Even you never dreamt you’d face
Now multiply that a hundred times
Not just one thing, but everything, gone
How would you cope
Could you go on
When there’s nothing left as you wake
I bet my life you would
Because you’d not be alone
And if you are, then something’s wrong
Those who love us most
Love us not for what we have but who we are
Supporting us with every step we take
There’s no stomping out the door
Or temper tantrums strewn about the floor
It should never be that hard
Challenging, yes always I agree
Oh, the hypocrisy of it all
Yet when you look into your true lovers eyes
You need do nothing more than to smile
So what then, when times get tough
Is your first instinct to run
Or do you stay and find a better way
Do you talk things out, really talk
Or do you cringe at the thought
I'm here, I’ll hang on every word
Just tell me what you need
And on full moon rites
What thoughts have you
To rid any demons that erupted
Two as one, for sanity’s sake
To cleanse and drive them all away
Such a sweet monthly Sabbat inspired
Perhaps a bit of magick is all it takes
