My Muse

My celestial muse, he visited me last evening
With a sincerity in his heart that I cannot refuse
For hours speaking of nothing extra ordinary
Success is found in the eyes of a glowing sprite
When both sides, the disconnect fight
Maybe one day we can try again, is the last I heard
Before I awoke, I believe, in a courtyard nearby
Where upon the sweetest of kisses he placed upon my lips
Was one that left me dazed and trembling
Beneath the flood, I am helplessly swept away
Until he led me to the place that only lovers see
And, atop a soft spun cloud we glided, ever so gently
Dancing to the rhythm ignited amidst this agonizing fire
The harmony, with every breath thereafter, still a mystery
Though my line of sight is clearer than it has ever been
