Pie Chart

Pie Chart
Let the beatings commence
With a wave of the hand
And flick of the tongue
Blackening their eyes
Kicking them still
When they’re down
Over and over again
Those beneath you
Poor unfortunate souls
Within your graying light
Chained and imprisoned
Unworthy of your existence
You have been aggrieved
You have been sold out
You have seen it all
But what of the pie chart
Where do you think you fall
Left side, right side, both?
Two wrongs don’t make it right
Are you in awe of yourself
Of the scars only you’ve inflicted
Are you stronger then
While you take them down
One by one, what then
When you’re bored
Hurling daggers
Masked by your religion
Enlighten me please
What does it make you
A Christian, a Muslim
A Jew, a Shaman, a Wiccan
No, I’m afraid, not even close
You are, in truth
Nothing greater than a coward
And I am saddened for you

Author's Notes: Have you even seen the pie chart that details the characteristics of an "abuser" and an "abusee"? It's a sad realization to find that many people hold attributes on both sides of that chart. It's an even harsher realization to find that you fall on both sides.
What side do you fall on? Are you sure about that? Could you accept and adjust, should the truth be so rudely shoved in your face?
