Tear Droplets

Tear droplets sting my eyes
as I come closer to meeting my demise.
I look around at the world I'm in,
infested with violence and cursed by sin.
Tear droplets escape from my eyes
as I chew my lip and try not to cry.
I watch as laughter turns to sobs
just as day turns to night and rain into fog.
Tear droplets stain my cheeks,
and I still have not found
that for which I seek.
I seek what is simple and pure
and true to love and
be loved by someone like you.
If it has to be done, then let it be,
but say those words and set me free.
As I descend to the sky so clear
and so blue, I yearn to hear those
three simple words: I love you!
