Wedding Night

We start at the end and fall in love
We take the steps backwards until we know
Not only where we stand in the other's life
But also what this new life means for us
I still hear your heartbeat in my ears
And can still taste you on my tongue
But until tomorrow my dear
And you see me dressed in white
I'm afraid I'll only be a memory tonight
Author's Notes: A poem I wrote on Valentines day. I, personally, hate the holiday but I had the urge to write a wedding poem for it
