Queen of the Night

Age Group: Adult
Queen of the Night
Awash in navy and shadow
The Queen of the Night, she glows
All mysteries of time and space
From ancient times, she knows
On high in the heavens
Her silvery eyes shine bright
The tides ebb and flow to her
Honored with chants and rites
Star children lay beside her
In their misty skies above
Twinkling eyes, all seeing
Looking down with love
When waxing she is young
Heavenly girl, child of ten
Growing ever stronger
A flower not yet open
When full she is the mother
With child on the way
Brilliant in her beauty
Like this, she will not stay
When waning she’s the crone
All knowing, wise, but tired
Time to rest and be rebirthed
Her season has expired
Full of hope we await
Month to month her return
Following her phases
Her knowledge we seek to learn
