Wall of stone veiling empty heart
Hiding from my eyes that which I feel
Murky waters hiding sad soul
Unspoken words echo in my ears
Tearing away stone by stone
The fortress wall of your mind
Searching, searching
For the one that will make it tumble
Dirty hands on clean skin
Feeling their way through the darkness
Reaching for what is not
Taking away that which is
Open wound that does not heal
Scabbed and bruised, scarred
I am who caused the festering
Turning a blind eye, I know
Reason and virtue becoming foggy
Selfish and selfless, yes
To thine own self be true
Run, no, please, stay
Waiting with bated breath
Eyes closed, but heart open
Lips parted, I know, I know
Lost and found, again, and still
And still…
