samhain's muse
by April Voxfire
Age Group: Adult
the nights of old
-or so i'm told-
mix and mingle
within the cold
for within the hour
we now stand
the veil is lifted;
and time will bend
put out the light
and unlock the door
for we will travel
to distant worlds
should you discover
something strange
or frightening
simply think of your home
and there you will be
----------------------------
you won't get me
this halloween
for i am protected
by the witch's queen
my shining lady,
with her moon beams,
surrounds and defends
with the greatest of ease
Author's Notes: I wrote this several years ago- the idea came from a cartoon that use to come on every year around Samhain. It was called "The Halloween Tree"- as a child, i loved that cartoon and therefore it inspired me to write.
