wisdom from hate

They burned me
a long time ago
my ashes fell silent;
mixed into the snow-
I watched their eyes
overcome with hate,
how my spirit longed
to be free from that place
the smoke rose higher
tangled tresses in the air
I heard my brother cry out,
my father warned not to care
My lover turned his back
as the flame engulfed my knee
and not a word was spoken
when he heard my final plea
oh mother, are you up there?
is this all that's left to be?
will my spirit burn forever-
won't someone come rescue me?
I'm here my child
hold fast- be brave
this little life is over;
this little life I gave-
I take you from this body
and place you back
into the womb
For you are mine forever
and nothing can harm you
what voice is this
that speaks to me?
An echo in eternity
The healing touch
of serenity..
Mother let me learn
from that place:
I will not be
silenced by burning hate
Author's Notes: i wanted to write something that touched on the burning times.
if i were one of the poor souls who lost their lives back then.
