Memories Of Angie

by Lunar Pixie
 Age Group: Adult

Angie. She is the dear one that I was once afraid to approach. Angie. The one who once stood up when I could not. Angie. The dearest friend who opened my eyes to another world.
Music I had never heard, Beauty I had somehow missed, A way to Be I had overlooked. Angie was my first Teacher, I can never forget what I learned.
That there is so much more in life than what I had known. That someone really cared for the Spirit that I had kept hidden. That I was WORTH knowing, and I'm not what THEY said I was. That the ones who had hurt me were blind... ignorant... not worth the pain.
She was the one who I had once been intimidated by, before I got to know her. She looked so different than anyone I had known before, and even intimidated, I admired her. She had the courage to be herself always... I wanted that strength!
She taught me, I have that strength inside, trust that much. She taught me, I didn't need the walls that I hid behind. She is still the Teacher, I am learning still, how to be my true Self. I am learning still, how to Trust enough to let people see Me.
Angie... I know you told me to wait, don't run off so soon. But I left anyway. I hope you can forgive me, I thought it was love... and even the illusion of love makes fools of everyone.
I'll remember always... My Angel-friend in shades, Popcorn and Diet Coke, Laughter and Eagles, Ninny always with you, Freedom, Strength and Beauty, All the things you taught me and every joy and pain we shared.
Where ever you are, I still think of you often, I still consider you my best friend.
In love and light, Lunar Pixie (The Original...)
Author's Notes: It was high school, I had been teased all thru school and never felt the courage to stand up for myself. I had a wall up, but not thick enough to block the sting. I was getting it yet again, and it just ticked her off. She stood up and told them all off, even though she didn't know me. She sat down, looked at me and asked "So who are you?"
It was that one moment of concern that began a friendship I will always cherish. I had seen her before, but I was always afraid to approach her. I admit, I was judging the book by it's cover. I just didn't think we had anything in common. Why would she want to talk to me? I'm so glad I was wrong.
Thank you Angie, for being such a true and wonderful light in my life! Your friendship is stiil so apprectated! Always, "Spatchelor"
In love and light, Lunar Pixie (The Original...)
