Frustration!!!

So much I want to say,
so many pieces I've begun,
so many that I can't seem to find the END.
It's not that I give up too soon,
get bored and just quit,
I think really, I stay too long.
Endlessly fretting....
"Does this fit?"
"Am I getting the thought across?"
"Is this done yet? It still feels incomplete..."
"Where the **** did the words go?"
"This isn't done yet!!! But ..."
And so they sit,
and so I wait a while,
and a lot of pieces still
unfinished.
I re-visit and edit,
I re-write and try again,
I go back to the first draft...
It still doesn't feel right!
Maybe I should think about it more...
maybe I'm thinking too much...
maybe I should just give it up...
maybe I should try again...
maybe I should just sleep on it...
maybe I should stop saying "maybe"...
It seems so unfair,
to leave those thoughts
in a notebook...
where only I can see them.
But I see so much room for...
change, improvement...
but I know I'm reaching for
the unattainable... I want
perfect.
Man! I really can't stand it.
Constantly trying to "fix"
what probably ain't even broke.
***sigh***
even this one isn't right!
...so it continues...

Author's Notes: What can I add? Probably every writter feels this way at some point. Poems, songs, or whatever... Ideas you want to share, but it never feels quite right.
I have a section in my notebook called (with a grin...) "Really Bad Poetry"
Just happens to be where my favourites live ;-) Right alongside those unfinished pieces that I'm "never" satisfied with. One or two have finally found their "end", but too many still feel incomplete and I haven't found the words to finish them.
Frustration. Please tell me I'm not the only one struggling with the annoyance and frustration (even with the satisfaction of the few gems that sparkle once finished...) The written word is such a pleasure, as well as a pain... ;-) I keep trying....
