Path in Decay

A light shines the shadows away
and shows me a dark path in decay
My spirits sword searing the path clear
those are my screams of anguish you hear
Shatter my fragile dreams, leave me in a desolate dark
I will rebuild my sundered soul in a tree filled park
I fear what I have learned and look at tomorrow with hope
Believing in a future is my only pill, my only way to cope.
One stands alone in the darkness of life
Searching for purpose, a reason for loves strife
Me alone in my own darkness, shedding little light
Send words of little consequence to aid in her fight...
True love is not a hot passionate flame burning bright.
That is a lusty fire that will leave you hollow on a lonely night.
A steady flame is true love; feeding and growing on itself, slow burning
It’s purity gives warmth in just a look; ecstasy with its touch, leaving no yearning
Willing you to give it all up in a selfless act of unconditional disgrace
Not worrying about a fragile ego or a broken hearts bitter taste
In a month of heaven, I saw her innocence, I’ve experienced her kiss
In softness and silk, I regret no choice of mine that lost me that bliss
How do I tell you the reason for your pain or reassure your mind?
When I myself fight fear of reason; we are born of the same kind.
Reason is caused by the scares of past hurts, when a person tells a lie.
It is when we reason our ordeals that we let other loves pass us by.
By a small ray of moonlight I offer you my liberation
Not much to hold onto; just my own rambling vindication
May my dim light shine your shadows away
As I try to show you a dark path in decay
A most humble weeping of a single tear
Hoping that maybe you can see more clear
