A Soldier

A SOLDIER
Soldiers come and Soldiers go
Some are strangers and some we know.
Some are family , some are friends
But some Soldiers are more than men.
A Soldier holds his gun in hand
Strongly protecting his Nation's land.
Ready for battle in the day or night
A Soldier protects our American rights !
Lets not forget our Green and Brown
Each one so handsome , standing their ground !
Lets not forget the Proud and Brave
Without each one we'd surely slave !
Without these Soldiers we'd have no chance
For Liberty or Justice in this land.
Because of these Soldiers , we feel safe.
We are not weak , we're not afraid.
But when we lose one of our own
A picture of Honor This Man has shown.
Lets never forget , even though so sad,
He's a Son , a Brother or someone's Dad !

Author's Notes: Written in June of 2006 in remembrance of 4 soldiers from the 3rd Battalion/160th Unit who died from a freak accident in a Chinook near Fort Rucker , Alabama.
