The old gnome, The young witch
by April Voxfire
Age Group: Adult
The young witch spoke of all that troubled her;
the old gnome laughed and replied:
"Will ye not see past this unfamiliar desire-
a hum
a soft moan
a whisper
something deep in your bones
it's calling to you-
(and you pretend not to hear it)
Take hold of that seed that sits low in your belly
bring some water! give it light! let it grow!"
"Feed it some
true
nourishment
..........or will you let it die?"
"Bless my stars, would you give it up?
(if you knew what it was, you were giving)
What you hold is
boundless..
and full of possibility"
"If I were you,
I would pray
for rain"
Author's Notes: the young witch fears her powers. she does not understand them. she does not know who and what she truly is.
at some point in our life I guess we could all relate to that.
the gnome is hundreds of years old. he has seen the beginning, middle, and soon the end. they both are at opposite ends of the looking glass. one who knows nothing. one who knows to much.
