Castle Pixie (The Guarded Heart)

What a child will so easily believe
just 'cause mom and dad said so...
Who a child will so easily trust in
just 'cause mom and dad said to...
What secrets that child completely hides
'cause this?, mom and dad CAN'T know.!.
What words a child no longer believes in
that one person corrupted...
"I love you" now no longer comforting
'cause those words got corrupted...
And how that child will draw away, knowing
now no one can be trusted...
Day after day, the hurt keeps on spreading
everyone looking tainted...
Everything new, the hurt keeps infecting
and all looks darkly painted...
Into Guarded Heart, NO ONE is getting
'cause everyone looks tainted...
But friendship and closeness, EVERY Heart craves
so, carefully they're chosen...
From loneliness, my Heart WANTS to be saved...
cautiously... they're chosen...
And slowly, I learn again to be brave...
With friends... carefully chosen...

If my words, my sharing, can help... even just one... it was worth the panic attack. Very personal, a lifetime ago, it seems. This was the most healing piece I've ever written. And the hardest to share.
Any one who's been (or is) a victim, know that you are not to blame. It's not your fault!
