Goddess Mourning
by April Voxfire
Age Group: Adult
She wore garments
of fog & dew today
casting spells of sleep
the warm lights fading away
All of this year
turned into an echo
she sings softly:
"Be still
be still
this is my quiet time
the journey is long
and I need to rest a while
Summer has ended
I carry on
without him by my side
The truth is my child,
without death there
can be no life"
Author's Notes: 11/07/06
Poem was inspired by my local weather today..
Rained all day- foggy. Looked like mother earth
was feeling kind of gloomy-but still beautiful all the same.
