Those Woods

I can't believe
they are selling
'Those Woods..
-
'Those woods
who were
my childhood altar.
I made potions,
chased faeries,
and embraced the wildness
in me..
Then the hard years came
and I no longer ran
to the woods embrace..
They have watched me
all these years;
silent.
waiting.
Those lonely treetops tug at my soul
I wonder what is to become of them?
Is this my punishment for
ignoring them?
To no longer have permission
to touch an old friend and enter in?
..where will the wild ones go
when their forests have been sold?
Without nature-
What could we call 'home'??
Author's Notes: A small patch of woods resides several feet infront of my house. The county I live in has decided to put the land up for sale. No buyers yet. Saddens me a great deal.
