What will you give?

Age Group: Adult
What will you give to the Fire that burns?
Will you give it your heart that hopes and yearns?
Will you feed it your fear, your doubt, your hate?
Or will you offer it nothing, just take-take-take?
Do you see a transformation within the terrible heat?
When you look at the inferno, do you hear the South speak?
We all must pass through Fire
If we wish to be cleansed and changed
For we all come from Fire
And the Fire knows our names
What will you give to the Air that blows?
Will you tell it your secrets that nobody knows?
Will you sing and dance in the rush of the wind?
Or will you hide your voice and never sing again?
Are you bold enough to call for inspiration or release?
Do you listen close for knowledge in the breezes from the East?
We all must pass through Air
If we wish to be cleansed and changed
For we all come from Air
And the Air knows our names
What will you give to the Earth that births
Will you spawn new paths, new life, new worth?
Will you build a foundation of a good and plentiful life?
Or will you poison the soil and wallow in strife?
Will you plant the seed and call it forth?
Do you know of the treasures that come from the North?
We all must pass through Earth
If we wish to be cleansed and changed
For we all come from Earth
And the Earth knows our names
What will you give to the Water that flows?
Will you follow the river no matter where it goes?
Do you listen to your heart and love with all your might?
Or do you stand against the current and try to fight?
Is your well deep with wisdom, or a few drops at best?
Do you feel the rain falling & thunder rolling in the West?
We all must pass through Water
If we wish to be cleansed and changed
For we all come from Water
And the Water knows our names
