Broom Closet Poem

Lady though I keep my love for you a secret
Like a locket worn by the heart yet under cloths
Does not mean I love you less
Lady though I cannot sing your praise
As I so dearly wish to do
I hum it to mysellf instead
But it's meaning is just as true
Lady though I wish to spiral dance
A skip must suffice
Untill all know I love you best
Lady though I wish to offer honey and grapes on a silver plate
A dropping of bead behing trees is all I can give
That and my heart for service to you is my fate
Lady forgive me for your symbol I cannot wear
For the hatred that it brings is more than my family can bear
Your symbols I wish to drape over my every arm and finger and ear and my neck
I must instead to bear
Lady though my love for you is great
To reveal these words I must wait
