Fortuna

Fortuna sends the winds and rains,
Fortuna rolls the trucks and trains,
She cures the weary of their pains,
She sparks the impulse in our brains.
She spins the spider and her strand,
She grows the garden, blows the sand,
She sighs her love on sea and land,
Enflames the woman and the man.
She guides you at the river's bend,
Swerves the Fates beyond your ken;
She is your lover and your friend,
The world's beginning and its end.
