Goodbye To A Friend

So these last few words
To you I'll let flow
And then my dear friend
I will let you go.
I cannot forget
Ev'rything that we shared
And I always thought
That you really cared.
Then when you vanished
Without any trace
My many lost tears
Washed over my face.
I will not ask you
To give a reason
And I will not waste
One more long season.
For such a long time
I had wondered why
But now my dear friend
I'll just say... goodbye.
