Trying to Outrun Tomorrow

An Eagle soars through clouded skies and gives a cry of sorrow,
He soars on high, far and away, trying to outrun tomorrow.
The skies are blood, with the sun's slow death, till the moon shines down with hope.
Her smiles full of promise false, until her downward slope.
We move along, day in, day out, searching for strength to borrow.
Then reality hits and the truth revealed, we're just trying to outrun tomorrow.
