The Rings

Gramma & Grampa had a strong love
The kind we all hope and dream of.
After many years, well Gramma died.
Grampa loved her, and wasn't far behind.
Grampa said Don't give these rings away.
These Rings stand for Love for Life
Be sure you love the woman
Before you make her your wife.
Well, I got those rings next from Dad.
My wife, well, she couldn't be true.
I didn't know that when she said "I do"
All she really wanted was all I had.
I hope to put the love back in those rings one day
Before, for the last time, I give them away.
Now I'm searching and hoping to find
The "True & Forever Love" those rings have left behind.
One day Grampa I swear, I'll find a love like you had then.
So those Rings are full of Love when I pass them on again.
You see, those Rings are going to my little Girl.
So we can watch & see that Love Fills her World.
So can ya help me Grampa?
I really need to find
The love
Those rings
Have left behind.
Author's Notes: I posted this poem and a couple of others on Poetry .com. They were copyrighted and published in thier poetry books. Took me totally by surprise, lol...
The poem says how badly I wanted those sad rings to "Feel" the love they were "created" for so that if I never found the Woman/Goddess of my dreams,
I wanted to pass them on to the Daughter who had been stolen away from me by the woman who wanted all that I had.
And took everything that I had when she took my daughter.
Some men have no greater Dream than to be a "Dad".
