Field of Ashes

In a place of expectation
I build my world of lies
Of webs, of dust
For I know I must
Not let anyone in
To see what dwells
In my world of lies
In the world of dust
Dwells the innner me
The one who longs
To be set free
One who can't survive
In a place of expectation
The people in this place
Can't see the inner me
The one they long to burn
Their flame consumes
My world of webs
Till all that's left
Is me
To late the people realize
The one to hate, to burn
Is the me they want to see
The one who plays charades
With expectations
Who sees the world
As a desolate field of ashes
Littered in broken dreams
Birds who cannot fly
In a place of expectations
Author's Notes: in know this sound really depressing (i really am a happy person to be around) but it does kind of descride my feelings about not telling anyone about my being Wiccan. i feel as if i have to build a false image to please other peoples expectations of me and if i deviate from that world of webs and dust then they try to burn me and crucify me for my differences because they dont understand that i have my own dreams as to who i want to be.
