Simple Beauty

Think back to that short lived life of that special bucket of flowers, now dead and wilted.
People are constantly asking you "why don't you throw
those ugly, dead things out"?
However, you see something about them that shines a radiance of beauty.
Their once broad, extravagant petals are now a duller shade, smaller, and more simple. Their strong, lush stems now are soft and limp.
The once found scent of rich sweetness has changed to the casual smell of dirt and earth.
You now can explain how their outrageous beauty was a lie as that of any equal beauty.
Its the simple, humble appearance that truly is beautiful.
Author's Notes: This poem was written after I had a great moment of enlightenment and understanding of not only myself but also alot of what is around me.
