There was a time

There was a time you’d convinced me of who I was, how I needed to feel ashamed of it.
There was a time when I hung on your words, though they were rarely sweet to my ears.
There was a time when all my constellations revolved around you.
That time is no more…
You are like a fallen Idol, still clinging to your platform. Too afraid to fall and have to face the consequences below. So you hang in limbo still expecting me to pray to you.
Well, no more.
No more wasted breath.
No more burnt offerings.
No more bruised knees.
No more body, no more blood.
No more.
