Winter's Night

The breeze is crisp, the air is cold,
As night it does descend.
The ground's all cloaked in sparkling white,
Fall's gone around the bend.
Pines all wearing powdery cloaks,
Flowers no longer bloom.
Creatures in their dens are snug,
Hoping spring will be here soon.
Frost on windows like frozen webs,
Hearth's all warm and bright.
Loved one's gathered all together,
On this Winter's Night.
I walk a circle thrice around,
My alter upon the snow.
I light my candles and say a prayer,
For all the things I know.
I raise my hands up to the sky,
Draw energy to me.
Knowledge, power, peace, and love,
Flows out for all to see.
On my knees I place my hands,
Upon the Mother Earth.
Grounding excess back to Her,
Soon will come rebirth.
Even dark nights of the soul,
Do not last for long.
As seeds of change begin to sprout,
Soon the soul will grow.
I thank the Lady and the Lord,
For life's lessons learned this year.
I bless my family and my friends,
And all that I hold dear.
I slowly walk back to my home,
Warmth waiting there for me;
Filled with light and tranquility,
As I wil so mote it be!!
