Real Angel

I wanted to fly
To touch the clouds and play with angels
But I never left the ground
Destined to stay in my caged hell
Licked it all off - to stay clean
But I never stayed godly
Always used and use to it
For I live in the pit
The pit of humanity's sh*t
Took a drive to get away
Always came upon the same roadsign
Live in circles
Never getting around to what I meant to be
Reached so far to touch your hand
Pricked my finger on a pale rose stem
Found what I had longed for the most
And feared the glue when it all
Shattered to pieces
When I finally allowed myself to hold you
I found myself wanting to go to a place
Where?
I don't know
Just anywhere from here
Perhaps to the home of the angels
To see if it all was real
Are you?
Author's Notes: Even when someone comes close, the deest feelings
are hard to trust. Sometimes the hidden blades that bring the unsuspecting down, come from within. Was love the answer? Or another distraction?
