A Plea for Action

Age Group: Adult
The time for action now has come
The time for sleep has passed.
Rise up children of this age
‘Tis time to act at last.
You’re sleeping through dangerous acts
You’re blind when you should see!
Tear away the veils and lies and
Rid yourself of apathy!
Lift your head and raise your voice
Cry out against wrongful deeds!
Raise your fists up to the House
And let him know you see!
The lies the hate the greed!
These things feed on the young.
They cause our wounds to rot –
Leave heroic deeds unsung!
Cry for the dead and untold souls
Whose blood stains the desert sands.
Embrace your children who return
With haunted eyes and blood-red hands.
Sooth their brows and see the truth
The man that caused such pain
Smiles as his hands dip black
And sees only his own gain.
Act now Children of the World
Do not let this slide!
Choose freedom and choose life
Bring down the Son of Lies!
Author's Notes: I feel this is fairly obvious, and the rhythmn is a bit uneven... but it was how I felt, and that is what is important.
