Ode to Friendship

Have you ever wanted,
ever prayed
to never have to tell
your loved ones goodbye?
Three people, many times,
this happened to me,
in my life,
that caused me to cry,
Caused me heartache,
made me want to die.
The first, my friend, loved the knife
more than me
found in the blade an escape.
The error of her ways came
to her blind eyes to late,
when she finally saw,
Iwas too far gone.
The second, more dear,
from Korea she came,
became my friend, my companion.
Through Rings, potatoes, and ol' Mr. Zane,
she and I were best buddies.
Had to leave at the end of the year,
broke my heart to see those tears.
Still talking to her, but not the same.
The last, many times over, my love Sam,
to say good bye to him and those big
gold-brown eyes seems a crime to me,
yet again and again I do, and
again and again I cry.
It hurts, I know, to say goodbyes,
and to wave that last wave.
This is not an ode of sadness, no,
These friends of mine, I loved dear,
And forever in my heart, they'll stay.
And ode to sadness, this is not,
But an Ode to Friendship, kept or lost.
Author's Notes: This is about three friends of mine. I wrote this after talking to the second one mentioned. This isn't really a pagan poem, but its by a pagan, sooo...
(First girl, I'll call "B", cut, couldn't stop even when I offered help, and only recently tried to contact me again. I'm too hurt to be able to talk to her yet)
(Second girl, I'll call her "June", was a foreign exchange student who was my best friend, and had to go back at the end of my junior high school year. Still talking on email and phone, but...)
(Third, is my boyfriend. I love him, but the distance between us is just criminal, as for now...Gonna tough it out though...)
