The Demon of Desire

Material Wanting
That accursed parasite that drains
a person of his senses,
making him rely on false understanding.
The thing within us that blinds us of
the true value and purpose of being
in these bodies.
It that entices us to stray from learning
and seek pleasures in places where
destructive attitudes lie.
Compounding itself on habits detrimental
to our thought processes,
it possesses us further.
Destroyer of freedom,
of learning the unknown,
of knowing Self.
The Scorpion that stings us into submission.
The producer of fear, guilt, of sin.
Our dear friend and constant companion
Desire.
The Black Angel of Death
