Escape

Age Group: Adult
The fireworks go off and she gets scared.
She shivers like someone with hypothermia
as she looks for an escape.
She moves around until she is free
and run towards her escape.
Many people see her,
but they do not stop her.
As she charges through the crowd
and makes her escape,
she doesn’t look back,
she doesn’t stop and think.
She runs a mile down the street
as she roams around looking for someone,
but sees no one, except one.
A friendly man approaches her
as she stops to slow down.
He holds her and calms her
until she is safe and content.
Reality or fantasy?
What is the difference?
When we dream,
we can escape reality
into a world of fantasy.
Author's Notes: This actually happened on July 3, 2007. It's about my puppy.
