The Void

Age Group: Adult
Darkness falls and shadows weep
I stand at the gates of remorse
Staring silently into the void
Self preservation masking true intent
Wanting more but at the same time
Always settling for less than I deserve
Who will walk with me in the blackened eve
Forever in the dim lit streets of my mind
Questions rumbling through grey matter
Swallowing me whole with intent to obliterate
An entire soul empting into the dark
The release of anger, pain and guilt
Ravishing what little light that may gleem through the cracks
My mind racing at the thought of even moving
A simple twitch will give me a way
The shadows stir within their cries of agony
A fragment of how my very own soul cries for what
Anything more than the void I am staring into
Silently the other side of you walks into my mind
Smirking at your prize as you wrap your sweaty hands around my neck
I can feel the cold blood pulsating through your palms
Nothing more until I awaken in my cell of hatred
Awaiting the repetative state that my life has fixated itself upon...
Surely death awaits me
