Just Starting

I've chosen to walk on a path that I feel has called me
It's difficult because I'm younger then I'd like to be
I can't do everything I want, because of those who oppose me
Though I try to call my patience sometimes I wish that they'd see
That I'm not evil, and I'm not insane
But they reject me because I'm not the same
I don't mind, I understand their emotions
But I wish that they'd check their absurd notions
I love them with all my heart
And yet they think that I'm the one who is trying to drift apart
I'm tired of their laughter that's directed at me
I don't know what they want, but I like who I am and that's the only person I'm going to be
