The Old and The New

Age Group: Adult
A rose is often red
And a violet is usually blue
But a repitition of the old
Makes me appreciate the new
A new green for your eyes
A new gold for your hair
New names for old colors
To show how I care
But does it makes sense
To change the old ways
Of romance and mischief
In our young and bright days
And why does a heart break apart
If love is gentle and kind
And how am I to go about my life
When you’re always on my mind
I say to you now
That the old and the new
Can be beautiful together
Just like me and you
