The Love of The Earth

I lay awake;
Sounds ring in my ears
Your words like whispers-
You tell stories
A time when we drank from your rivers...
A time when we hunted for food...
A time of the past...
A future that lasts...
Is something we wish to hold on to...
I lay awake;
Sounds ring in my ears
Your words like whispers-
You tell stories
You gave us so much now we take-
For granted; what you're willing to part...
We do not say;
Thanks-we just take!
As if we own everything that you give...
I lay awake;
Sounds ring in my ears
Your words like whispers-
You tell stories
I know better Mother- Gaia I thank you...
Thanks for the animals, the air, streams,
and the trees too.
Great Goddess of earth,
I ask that Gods/goddesses, to please Bless you
Author's Notes: So many people take what we are given by the earth for granted even though she fives us so much. Everything we use on a daily basis originally came from her in one way or another. It is Important that w remember, especially as pagans/Wiccans, that we must be grateful to the earth, or as I call her Gaia. We must remember to do what we can to do are part. That's what this is about...remembering all Mother Earth does for us.
