What Lies Within The Mirror

Come inside my mind and see what lies in pieces,
Follow the cold stone stairs down into my heart.
I pray you have the key to open the doors blocking you from me
And the means to melt the ice entombing me.
Step into the mirror,
And find yourself staring back at me,
Journey to my place,
And find my monster in the mirror.
Nevermind my blackened wings
For I am of no devil.
Do not look within my eyes,
Or you will see my blood as tears.
What is in my mirror?
Why is he so frightening,
When all he does stare?
Who is my monster in the mirror?
He never tells me anything,
Though I am always him.
We are never apart,
Though I am a part of him.
I look into his eyes,
And know I am looking back at me.
He is me and I am him,
But he is the truest of us two.
I know of his red eyes
And how he spreads his wings,
But his obsidian sword is my weapon,
To cut down those who would drown me.
What lies within the mirror
Is nothing to be afraid of,
It's only me.
Author's Notes: This particular poem is all about a memory of a dream, of someone I see within the mirror. I have no idea what to make of the dream in and of itself, though I hope my readers enjoyed my poem ^^
